NYC and 3D
NYC and 3D Clothing
Simon Collins, Founder, WeDesign.org and former Dean of the School of Fashion at Parsons
Last month I attended a three day seminar for ‘fashion professors’ on the CLO3D clothing software.
Also while in New York City I attended the Coresite and Alvanon ‘Trailblazers.’ Including a seminar on 'One Size Does Not Fit All: Inclusive Design & the Modern Consumer.' A 3 billion dollar opportunity. A great talk by Maura Horton of MagnaReady about 'adaptive clothing.' Another niche market of billions of dollars of opportunity.
On July 19 - 20th it was the PI Apparel conference held at the Union Club. Great to see some familiar faces from February’s conference. Excellent speakers and presenters. I attended seminars that addressed ‘smarter to market’ and fashion innovation using 3D and AR.
An inspiring time in NYC and in 3D clothing. The seminars clarify the economy, sizing and design possible in 3D clothing. I am going to take what I have learned and teach within the community. Also to work on my dream of 3D clothing archiving for the museum. The Fashion Innovation Centre

I was at the CLO3d Academic Summit for Fashion Design professors in NYC. Hosted at the WeWork Co-working space on Madison Avenue. Thanks again to the CLO3d team - Ryan, Caley, Amy and Ann for having me. It was a pleasure to learn!
